Readiness has now joined the UK G-Cloud 12 Framework

It gives me great pleasure to write today that we have now been formally accepted into the UK Government G-Cloud 12program.  What is the G-Cloud program? The UK Government G-Cloud is an initiative targeted at easing procurement by public-sector bodies in departments of the United Kingdom Government of commodity information technology services that use cloud computing.  Basically, it’s  a procurement and spending network setup and run by the UK government and includes:

  • A series of framework agreements with suppliers, from which public sector organisations can buy services without needing to run a full tender or competition procurement process
  • An online store – the “Digital Marketplace” (previously “CloudStore”) that allows public sector bodies to search for services that are covered by the G-Cloud frameworks

This means that you don’t need to conduct and extensive procurment process, or enter a mini-competition bid process to access Readiness services. Readiness is now able to offer the following services to all government (e.g. councils and NHS Trusts):

  • Application assessment and testing
  • Patch impact assessment
  • Application conversion and remediation

Benefits of the Readiness approach includes

  • rapid assessment of cross-platform compatibility and suitability
  • Prepare “what-if” scenarios for future migration states
  • Quickly convert existing applications to modern desktop platforms

You can find our services listed here. And, you can find out more on the Readiness website found here.
